Frequently asked questions…
Q: What does it cost for TradeAssist to sell my items?
A: We do not charge any up-front fees. We only charge our commission once an item sells. (Please see the bottom of our “Services” page for our fees.
Q: How long does the process take?
A: We can usually list items on eBay within two weeks of picking them up. From that point, everything depends on the popularity and demand for each item. Some will sell within a day or two and others take quite a bit longer. Once an item has sold and the transaction is complete, a check is promptly sent out. We do however, try to group payments together so we are not sending out several checks to each client.
Q: What if my item doesn’t sell?
A: We do sell the majority of everything we list. On the rare occasion that an item does not sell, it is returned. We also give you the option of allowing us to donate it to charity if you choose not to have it returned.
Q: Why shouldn’t I just sell my items myself?
A: TradeAssist has been selling on eBay since 2001. We know how to get the highest possible price for your items. Our reputation and “Top Rated Seller” status attracts buyers from around the world to our eBay listings. Selling on eBay is a lot more work than most people think. We photograph, write descriptions and accept payment for each item. We also handle all packing and shipping.
Q: Can I watch the activity of my items on eBay.
A: Absolutely. Once your listings are posted, we will email you a link to view your items live on eBay. You can watch your auctions as they happen and view activity on your fixed price listings.
Q: Can I set a minimum selling price for my auction and fixed price listings?
A: From years of experience, we have found that a starting price of $9.99 usually brings the highest final price for auction format. It tends to attract many more bidders, who drive the auction price up. If you are not comfortable with the auction format, we use several fixed price format techniques that will bring in a fair price for your items as well.
Q: Can I bid on my own auctions?
A: No. This is called “shill bidding” and is against eBay policy. We strongly urge you not to do this in order to protect fair trade on eBay, as well as to help protect our seller reputation on eBay.
Q: Can I purchase other items from TradeAssist’s eBay Store?
A: Certainly. You are more than welcome to bid on or purchase items other than yours, that are listed in our eBay Store.
